Vinexposium and Bettane+Desseauve join forces to boost international reach of wine and spirits industry
The world’s leading organiser of professional events dedicated to wines and spirits and Bettane+Desseauve, announced the alliance at Wine Paris & Vinexpo Paris 2023
Upcoming international editions of Vinexpo and Le Grand Tasting will be held simultaneously in Singapore, Seoul, Tokyo and New York, helping wine and spirits companies grow their reputation with consumers.
Rodolphe Lameyse, CEO of Vinexposium, applauded the news, saying “This alliance is important because it will give winemakers the opportunity to access valuable feedback from the people who actually drink wine . At the end of the day, this feedback is key to ensuring the wine is meeting consumers’ expectations and for producers to respond to these market expectations. This is especially important given the industry has become increasingly international over the past 30 years.”
The Grand Tasting, an event organised by Bettane+Desseauve, a group of experts specialised in publishing content, including guides, magazines, books and audiovisuals, will take place the day before Vinexpo. While each event will continue to be managed independently, the combination will create space for synergies – B2B through Vinexpo and B2C through Grand Tasting, enabling producers to further develop their business in key markets worldwide.

Thierry Desseauve, President of Bettane+Desseauve, said: “Bringing the best wines and those who make them together with consumers has been our mission since 2004. Combining our expertise and our events with Vinexposium’s know-how and high standards on the international stage is a project that makes sense. Together, based on our understanding of the wine and spirits industry, we will continue to help professionals build strong and lasting relationships with consumers”
The Vinexposium and Bettane+Desseauve alliance is exclusively international, which means both structures will retain their own events in France but join forces abroad, in Singapore, Seoul, Tokyo and New York. It will bring extensive experience in joining producers and the general public, while helping wine and spirits companies develop their reputation across the value chain, both at the distribution and retail level and with the end consumer.
The partnership was announced yesterday at Wine Paris & Vinexpo Paris 2023 and will begin with a series of events, opening in Singapore in May 2023, followed by Seoul in October, Tokyo in November and New York in March 2024. It will also see the expansion of Vinexpo and Le Grand Tasting’s digital offers which will complement the exhibition and meeting spaces.
While Vinexpo remains exclusively reserved for professionals, amateurs and so-called prosumers will be welcomed the day before for the Grand Tasting. Producers and buyers will then be able to meet at Vinexpo in a setting, which is conducive to doing business and tastings between professionals.
“We are delighted to collaborate with Bettane+Desseauve, as this new synergy will broaden the scope of our events and help our clients succeed in international markets thanks to a tailor-made offer”, said Mr Lameyse. “It is essential for the wine and spirits industry to maintain strong relationships with consumers in order to adapt to the challenges of declining consumption and remain competitive in a constantly changing market”.
