Wine Paris & Vinexpo Paris 2023 are the perfect location for the popular Canadian company to showcase some of its key products.
Dunrobin Distilleries, an artisinal Canadian spirits and bitters producer, is showcasing its Canadian Rum and Canadian Whisky at Wine Paris & Vinexpo Paris 2023.
What makes the company’s rum unique, said Mark Watson, the company president, is that it is made using maple syrup, which gives the drink a very Canadian twist.
“It gives it a unique terroir, but it still has a tropical flavour,” said Mark.
This authentic Canadian rum is craft distilled from cane sugar and organic black strip molasses before barrel ageing in bourbon casks and blending with the maple syrup.
The aroma of the rum is clean and light with tropical fruit, while the taste is off-dry with medium intensity. Dunrobin says there are flavours of oak, vanilla and butterscotch.
The company’s whisky, meanwhile, is described as approachable with a perfect blend of wheat, corn and rye.
“It’s recognised for its very smooth, approachable flavour profile. On the nose you have some vanilla,” Mark added.
The quality of the whisky is widely recognised, with the company having won multiple awards just in the past couple of years.
It is perfectly suited, Dunrobin said, to being served neat, on the rocks and in favourite cocktails.
Adrian Spitzer, Dunrobin’s CEO, said the company has a small distillery on its certified organic farm, with the products subsequently scaled up at a larger facility.
“We’re very fortunate to have our own organic lab,” he said. “We grow our own botanicals and do our own soil development.”
Dunrobin’s products at Wine Paris & Vinexpo Paris 2023 are also beautifully presented in bottles with a maple leaf motif.
