The DWI showcases the diversity of German wines

At this year’s Wine Paris & Vinexpo Paris, the German Wine Institute (DWI) has doubled its exhibition space surface and is presenting a record 46 wine producers from eight German wine-growing regions, highlighting the variety of the country’s offer.

At the joint stand of the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL) in the German Pavilion, the DWI is presenting a wide range of German red, white, rosé and sparkling wines including not only German flagship grape varieties such as Riesling and Spätburgunder, but also white Burgundy varieties and regional specialities like Silvaner and Scheurebe. In addition, the DWI is also showcasing PIWI grape varieties such as Sauvignac as well as alcohol-free, and low-alcohol wines.

“We are delighted that so many local wine producers are taking the opportunity to present their products to an international audience of wine experts and thus represent the diversity of German wines,” explained DWI Managing Director Monika Reule.

Exhibitors are also offering one wine each at the DWI tasting counter throughout the event, and the DWI is providing a varied programme of seminars and themed tastings. Highlights include “Licence to Sparkle: German Premium Sekt” and mature wines today, and “Germany’s Dream Team: Riesling+Spätburgunder” tomorrow.

Additionally, German winegrowers will be organising their own seminars on the stand, and the team from the German Wine Institute as well as the German Wine Queen Eva Brockmann will be on hand to answer questions from trade visitors.
